Everything is rarely as it appears on the surface. This work aims to embody that duality. Though appearing simple, these images reveal surprising depth upon closer exploration.
In this pop-up work, all the layers are built on a fixed acrylic base, with each layer designed to be separable. Layers can be rearranged, removed, or expanded with light. Each layer symbolises a moment that shapes and impacts us uniquely.
Using a mobile phone as a light source, viewers can create shadows across the layers, evoking the wonder of childhood shadow games. This interactivity reminds us of our power to reshape the 'layers' of our lives. We are daily evolving. Fluidity is essential, empowering us to let go and flow with life’s changes.
