A communications designer, illustrator and calligrapher, Katharina Ostendas started learning calligraphy at the end of 2013 and it quickly became her passion. “Holding a handwritten piece of paper in my hands fills me with indescribable joy. Writing is not only part of our tradition, it also offers a wide range of artistic expression,” she shared. Over the years, she deepened her knowledge, studying with renowned, international lettering artists. Her interests include traditional and contemporary calligraphy, drawn lettering compositions, built-up capitals and creating intricate gilded initials.
