Keynote: A la Mémoire des Enfants Déportés (Remembering the Deported Children) -- The Project's Historical Context and Significance by Daniel Turbow

Daniel will discuss the historical context of the project, providing an overview of the actions and attitudes of the French during World War II and their collaboration with the Nazi regime. He will then discuss the French post-war reckoning with that conduct which precipitated the creation of monuments and memorials, including those that provide the basis of the project.
