Our Philosophy
The Art of Letter exists to promote calligraphic art through exhibitions, education, art sales, a cross-cultural mentorship initiative, and community-building events.
We aim to be a safe space where our community can be uplifted, encouraged and inspired; a space characterised by generosity, honour and openness, free from bias or needless contention; where we are free to create and share art that is inspirational and life-affirming.
What is ‘Symbiosis’?
‘Symbiosis’ is our annual online calligraphic art exhibition showcasing works created by participating artists and their mentors during the nine-month international mentorship initiative.
The mentorship helps catalyse each artist’s growth through care, exploration and collaborative learning as they develop new works that culminate in the ‘Symbiosis’ exhibition. During the exhibition weekends, the artists and mentors also host talks to share their processes, inspiration and creative journey.
Rooted in shared cross-cultural dialogue, each mentoring group becomes an inspiring space where diverse backgrounds, perspectives, disciplines, and artistic traditions naturally intertwine—nurturing and amplifying one another’s creative energy.
